D4CB 2.5L CRDi Reconditioned Turbo-Diesel Engine
The engine we know better than any other. More than 300 D4CB units supplied and fitted, rebuilt to factory specification at our Hallam workshop and tested before release. Supplied on its own anywhere in Australia, or supplied and fitted here.

Vehicles this engine goes into
The D4CB was used across one closely related Hyundai family. Build year and variant still matter, so we confirm the code against your rego or VIN rather than the model name.
Hyundai iLoad
The van this engine is best known for, and the one we supply most often.
Hyundai iMax
The people-mover built on the same platform, using the same engine code.
Hyundai H-1
Sold in some markets as the H-1, mechanically the same unit.
Hyundai Starex
The earlier name for the same van and people-mover family.
This engine code is supplied reconditioned only. Both prices above include GST, and the difference between them is the flat $1,000 fitting rate that applies to any engine on our list. Send your rego or VIN and we will confirm the figure against your actual vehicle before you commit.
What you are buying
The figures below describe the engine itself. Your original intake, alternator, turbo, sensors and ancillaries transfer across onto it.
How a D4CB is rebuilt
Machined and rebuilt
The block is machined and rebuilt with OEM-grade parts and purpose-built tools. Pistons, rings and bearings go back to the manufacturer’s specification.
Tested before release
Output, torque and fuel efficiency are checked before the engine leaves us, whether it is going into a van here or onto a truck interstate.
Your accessories carry over
You receive the reconditioned block. Your intake, alternator, turbo, sensors and ancillaries transfer across, so it is a true like-for-like drop-in.
Fitted here, or delivered to you
Send your details
Rego, VIN or the engine code off the block. That is enough for us to confirm you need a D4CB and not a neighbouring code.
We confirm the price
$4,200 for the engine or $5,200 fitted, GST included, confirmed against your vehicle. Freight is quoted separately if you are interstate.
Fitting or freight
Book the van into Hallam, or we crate the engine and send it to your own mechanic anywhere in Australia.
Back on the road
If the vehicle is off the road and earning, say so. We handle urgent replacement around the clock and can arrange towing or a courtesy car, subject to availability.
Common questions
Is a brand new D4CB available?
No. This engine code is supplied reconditioned only. Every D4CB we sell is rebuilt to factory specification and tested before it leaves the workshop.
How do I know my van has a D4CB?
Send us your rego or VIN. Engine codes vary by build year and variant, so we confirm the code rather than working from the model name. The code is also stamped on the block.
What does the price include?
$4,200 is the reconditioned engine with GST included. $5,200 is the same engine supplied and fitted at our Hallam workshop, the difference being the flat $1,000 fitting rate.
Can my own mechanic fit it?
Yes, and most interstate customers do exactly that. We crate the engine and freight it to their workshop.
Will you beat another quote on a D4CB?
Yes. Send an itemised written quote for identical work from a legitimate workshop and we will beat it by five per cent.
How quickly can you supply one?
The D4CB is the engine we hold most heavily, so it is usually our quickest turnaround. Call with your details and we will give you a realistic date rather than an optimistic one.
