Privacy Policy
How Korean Engine Specialist collects, uses and protects your personal information when you request a quote or have an engine supplied or fitted.
Last updated: 20 October 2026
Who we are
Korean Engine Specialist supplies reconditioned and new Hyundai and Kia engines across Australia and fits them at our workshop at 3 David Lee Rd, Hallam VIC 3803. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Korean Engine Specialist.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it and what we do with it.
Information we collect
We only collect what we need to quote on an engine and carry out the work. That usually means:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- Your suburb or postcode, and your address where we are arranging delivery or towing
- Vehicle details, including registration number, VIN, make, model, year and engine code
- What you have told us about the job, including anything you type into our quote form
- Quotes you send us from other workshops when you ask us to beat a price
- Records of our dealings with you, such as quotes issued, invoices, payments and warranty claims
We do not ask for sensitive information, and we ask that you do not send it to us. We do not store full credit card numbers on our website.
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you in nearly every case. That happens when you fill in the quote form on this website, call or text us, email us, message us on social media, or deal with us in person at the workshop.
Sometimes we receive your details from someone acting for you, such as a mechanic, smash repairer, fleet manager or insurer arranging work on your vehicle. Where that happens, we handle your information under this policy just the same.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- Identify the correct engine for your vehicle and prepare a quote
- Supply, deliver and fit the engine, and arrange towing or a courtesy car where applicable
- Take payment and issue invoices and receipts
- Handle warranty claims and any questions about work we have done
- Keep the records we are required to keep
- Answer your enquiries and follow up on a quote you have requested
If you would rather we did not contact you again about a quote, tell us and we will stop.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not trade or rent it to anyone.
We share what is necessary with the people who help us complete the job, such as engine suppliers and reconditioners, freight and courier companies, towing operators, payment processors, our accountants and our IT and website providers. Each of them only receives what they need for that task.
We will also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is reasonably necessary to deal with a legal claim.

No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep your information only for as long as we need it or the law requires, then destroy or de-identify it.
Access and correction
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Contact us using the details on this page and we will respond within a reasonable time.
We may need to verify who you are before we release anything. If we cannot give you access, we will explain why.
Overseas disclosure
Some of the service providers we use, such as website hosting, email and analytics, may store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first using the details on this page. Tell us what happened and we will look into it and come back to you.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your complaint, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
